Brando

Songs My Mother Taught Me
Jun 07, 2018
Apparently - (As the story goes) - Random House Publishers (in 1994) actually paid Marlon Brando (who was 70 at the time) $5 million for his autobiography. No doubt they were anticipating a huge dollar return on the sales of this particular celebrity publication. Well - IMO - I hardly think that these memoirs of Brando's were worth 5 million pennies considering that his story was told in a hazy cloud of sentimental nostalgia and that it didn't reveal anything other than what one would expect from a clearly biased whitewashing of one's own life. I mean - "Songs My Mother Taught Me" was literal light years away from being a titillating "tell-all". That's for sure. Here Brando makes almost no mention of his wives and children, and neither does he go anywhere near the topic of his bisexuality. Anyway - I'd say that the only really interesting aspect about this book was the numerous stills that punctuated many of the chapters.
